HISTORY
HISTORY
In 1980, I attended school for electronics and received a degree in specialized technology. While attending school, I began my career in audio repair with a part-time job at a local shop called Comp Audio. After completing my degree, I landed a job at the Listening Post, working as a technician on various brands of fine audio gear. In 1992, I started Progressive Electronics while still working as a technician. After a few years, Progressive Electronics bought out the service department from the Listening Post.
My business grew as I took on work sent to me from various surrounding audio retail stores. During my years as a technician, I attended many service seminars. In recent years, I have slowed down the amount of work that I do, focusing my time and expertise on the fine-audio brands that I specialize in. I have been an authorized service center for all of these brands: Marantz, McIntosh, Yamaha, Bang & Olufsen and Nakamichi. I have the unique combination of experience working with 70's vintage audio and passion to spend the much-needed time for the restoration of these prized units. There is a great deal of quality audio from the late 80's to early 90's that I am greatly familiar with also.
I also sell refurbished vintage audio equipment in my shop and online.
